Hey Friends,

I'm alive and doing well. This week has been really relaxing since taking the MCAT. It's hard to describe the relief I felt, as if a weight was lifted off my shoulders. This experience has brought mental fortitude to light, and it's been crucial. The things I started doing around this time last year helped me push through the final week leading up to the MCAT. It is a comforting feeling knowing you have a strong support system of family and friends.

In recent weeks and months, I've been eagerly anticipating the return of a game I've loved for ages, and it's finally back—College Football 25. Words can't fully capture how sentimental this game is to me. Eleven years ago (2013), in mid-July, my cousin and I played College Football 2014 on the PlayStation 3. The PlayStation 4 would come out that Christmas, and we were so excited to play the game. We wouldn't know but this would be the last game created until this past Monday, July 15th. The reasoning for the discontiation of the game was that the creators at Electronic Arts (EA) were sued by former players for not being able to be compenstated by their name, image, and likeness (NIL) in the video game. A plethora of players followed suit in this, and rightfully so. However, the settlement from this was a payment to said players and a discontinuation of the game. The introduction of NIL deals in 2021. In short, players can now be compensated for their NIL.

In my opinion, college sports have a different vibe from professional sports. The pride and lineage associated with college sports create a deeper connection for many people. This is something you don't always find in professional sports unless there's a family connection to a particular team or organization.

Playing the game this week has been fantastic. It's allowed me to unwind and not think about anything else. Reflecting on my journey, from where I started to where I am now, I see the transformation. It was all worth it, despite the challenges. My goal was to become unrecognizable in a positive way, eliminate bad habits, and become a better person. I aimed to share my influence with more people and be a catalyst for positive change.

We all have an impact on each other, and this year, I've seen how I've catalyzed changes in others as they've done for me. I want to thank everyone in my life, even if we don't talk regularly. You've all had a positive impact on me. Here's to many more years of positively influencing each other's lives.

Peace,

Zechariah Davis
