2319: Twenty-Five

2319: Twenty-Five

Happy Friday and happy 25th birthday to me!

A quarter of a century and I’m genuinely blessed to have made another lap around the sun. I spent most of this week trying to write a post; I tried brain‑dumping, free‑writing, even staring at a blank screen – nothing felt right. Then it hit me: I was overthinking it. So instead, I’m just going to talk about how it feels to be 25.

As a kid, 25 sounded ancient. Watching cousins and older siblings hit that age, I thought, “Yikes, that’s getting up there.” Now that I’m here, it honestly doesn’t feel much different from 20 – except maybe I have a better appreciation for sleep. I love reaching each new age because every year, with its good and bad days, shapes who I am.

So, how do I feel at 25? Blessed. I have my loved ones around me and that’s really all I could ever ask for. I’m a simple guy; anyone reading this can probably attest to that. I still don’t have the answer to every question – why did younger me think I would by now? Maybe I’ll unlock the secrets at my golden birthday next year (kidding!). Life is about figuring things out one day at a time.

Between 24 and 25 my core values have shifted. The biggest change has been embracing fellowship with my people; everything else seems to fall into place when I focus on relationships. Here’s to another year of growth, gratitude, and maybe finally remembering which key opens which door.

Peace,

Zechariah Davis
