2319: Left hand like Ginobili 🏀

Hey Friends,

You are capable of anything you envision.

There’s something about writing at night that just feels right. I’m not sure what it is, but everything seems to flow better. Maybe it’s the approaching deadline that helps me focus, ensuring I have everything written up by night so I can post it in the morning. As we approach the end of the week, let’s recap.

This week had its ups and downs, but overall it’s been good. Despite a few rough days, I enjoyed both the highs and lows. Notably, the Boston Celtics are up 3-0 in the NBA Finals, and it looks like they’ll close out the series soon. It’s great to see a team that has worked so hard finally getting their chance to shine.

The highlight of my week was seeing something from my vision board come to life. I made my vision board back in January, right after Christmas break, and I was very enthusiastic about it. The effort and energy you put into your vision board truly matter, and this week, I saw a manifestation from it. One image on my board was of Jimmy Butler dunking a basketball. At the time, I wasn’t sure what it meant, but now it feels like a symbol of achieving goals. Similar to basketball, where you practice to perfect a specific shot or dribble and eventually master it, it's about achieving your goals.

A few days this week were mentally tough, but I pushed through. On those harder days, I found that playing basketball helped clear my mind, like a form of meditation. Whether it was five minutes or half an hour, shooting hoops allowed me to escape reality for a bit and return with a fresh perspective. The discipline and practice in basketball translate well to studying and pursuing any career. For instance, I used to be weak with my right hand in basketball. Through persistent practice, my right hand became stronger. This week, I decided to practice with my left hand, which was my weaker side again. Every day, I saw improvement, and it reminded me of studying—some subjects might feel like your weak hand, but with consistent effort, you get better.

If you don’t have a vision board yet, consider making one. It doesn’t have to be yearly; it can be seasonal or even weekly. Use magazines, online images, or anything that represents your goals. Remember, you are more than capable of achieving and envisioning anything you want.

Peace,

Zechariah Davis
